Happy New Year!
Hello everyone, Happy New Year and all the best for 2012! Is it just me or did Christmas and New Year go by pretty fast this year?
Anyway, my attempt to have a scavenge for old pics on my hard drive ended up not happening , mainly due to all the festivities, and also procrastination. Luckily enough I remembered my lovely Gran had given me an old Box Brownie camera. Until I work out if I can still get film for it, and also how to work it, I decided to take some pictures of the camera instead. Also it gave me an excuse for some black and white stuff, which always makes me happy. Some of these shots are a bit abstract, I was feeling pretty creative so I went for some weird angles. Hopefully it works…
I start my new job tomorrow (yep the same one I was talking about months ago!) and I’m going to be pretty busy so I’ll just be posting the rest of this set over the next few days, with no words (there isn’t much to say about these pics from me anyway).
Hopefully once I’ve got over my festive lethargy and adjusted to work (it’s been a while) I’ll have a chance to get out and get some pictures of landscape-y type stuff before I start back at uni. There’s a lot of stuff I want to get some shots of, but it’s just a matter of finding the time and money to get to some of these places. But hopefully 2012 will be the year of successfully organising my time between uni, work and whatever else life throws at me with enough spare time to get back on the weekly posts. My blog was a bit neglected towards the end of 2011
Anyway hope you all like the pics, and hope you all have an awesome 2012!
Abstract?
I got my new camera yesterday (unbelievably happy with it!!!), so I decided to go find some stuff to shoot in Princes Street Gardens. It was a miserable day, despite it apparently being spring it snowed in the morning and then there was a lot of mist/fog (what’s the difference again?). The only people I saw in the gardens were people taking pictures of stuff, except for a couple of people wandering about.
I stumbled about in some bushes for a while and found these flowers, I’ve no idea what they’re called, so if you do then let me know! I managed to get a really nice effect on this shot, sort of abstract (I think?).
In an a attempt to justify my constant picture taking to the girlfriend I’m going to start selling prints (minus copyright symbols and text) via Ebay, so I should have a link up for that within the next few days of anyone is interested.
